When the lovely folks at Nespresso asked me share my thoughts and musing on what a “Tasteful Holiday” is and host a giveaway for my readers, I was delighted. I really believe it is the most wonderful time of the year. I love being surrounded by holiday decor at every corner and driving around the neighborhood at night, and seeing all the beautiful Christmas lights on everyone’s home. Every year, on Christmas Eve, my family and relatives gather at my aunt’s house to celebrate with a delicious home cooked feast, then play board games until the wee hours of the night. I volunteer each year to bake a few goodies. I am so excited that I can now bring my new Nespresso machine to make yummy coffee and espresso to compliment their dessert. My family has raved about this machine for a long time now, and I can’t wait to bring it over and try new flavors with them.

You can win your very own Nespresso Pixie Aluminum (retail: $229) and Aeroccino (retail: $99).
1. Comment, below, with what a “Tasteful Holiday” means to you.
2. Leave your email address, so I contact you if you are the winner.
Good luck to all who enter! Giveaway ends December 27th.

When I was little, our family tradition was to cook all day on Christmas eve. We would start eating dinner at around 10pm and hopefully finish at around midnight. After dinner, we would run to the Christmas tree and look over at our parents to see if it was time to open the gifts. For me, a tasteful holiday reminds me of being little and sitting around the Christmas tree watching my sisters shake, guess and open their gifts.

A 'tasteful holiday' is a funny one for me – funny 'haha' and funny peculiar. Of course, the yum-factor is top of the list at my place over the festive period, but a question of taste has me
thinking over the glorious Christmas kitsch-explosion that is the tacky
bling-fest of decorations day. There are some truly hideous and nonsensical
decorations in my house, and every year, my family is in stitches presiding
over what the hell all these things are, where they've come from and what they
mean. Meanwhile, my aunt, mum and Italian grandmother are trying to force more food down everyone's throats amid protestation, because the knitted Christmas pig, or Christmas world cup trophy angel, are too much to cope with while eating. Then there’s ‘Christmas
Quidditch’ – a collection of plastic crystal-covered hoops that are suspended
from the ceiling every year. These were originally a feature in Monsoon’s
Christmas window a few years back but were stolen by my mum, because Mum is
wont to steal that kind of thing. Christmas lazer-bauble, festive Artax and
Atreyu, Christmas pegs and the dancing battery-powered Christmas tree nestle among
a whole lotta Jesus and spray-painted bits of twig. It’s the opposite of
tasteful but we wouldn't have it any other way. x

To me, a "tasteful holiday" is inspired by the joy and warmth of the season. It is the best time of the year to spend relaxing, eating, drinking, and shopping with loved ones. No matter your geographic location, cozying up with friends and family while sipping hot beverages and eating one too many cookies is the absolute best!

To me, a tasteful holiday is one that is focuses on family and friends rather than getting bogged down in details. At the end of the day it shouldn't matter what's on the table, under the tree or in your stocking.

And obviously everyone should gather to watch A Christmas Story.

a tasteful Christmas to me means…decorating the christmas tree, listening to holiday music, making cookies and drinking hot coco. This too is my favorite time of year. I love spending it in the kitchen baking with my fiance and then sharing the goodies that we made with our friends and family.

Awesome! I love visiting friends that have Nespresso machines, always delicious.
A tasteful holiday in our house is usually typified by three things: homemade chocolate mousse, tamales and Christmas Vacation quotes all day. Odd combination but it's always a happy day.

My family usually tries something funky on Christmas Eve since we celebrate with just the immediate family. Last year it was fondue and champagne!

Christmas morning is always a waffle breakfast! Yum!

For me, a "tasteful holiday" is having a grand Christmas Eve dinner gathered around the dinner table with 15-20 family members, eating roast beef, mashed potatoes, and a Filipino dish here and there (included rice, of course). We usually drink some hot chocolate or coffee afterward while we wait til midnight to open gifts!

A tasteful holiday to me means relaxing in my warm home with a cup of hot herbal tea, hot chocolate, or egg nog by the fireplace, with my 2-year old Pomeranian cuddling up next to me. I would spend quality time with my parents and grandparents, seeing as I don't see them often over the school year, being a full time student. I would also find the time to either go to an EDM show here in Atlanta or spurge a bit and go out-of-state to go to a festival, spending time with my great friends.

Happy Holidays, Aimee! This and every year, my idea of a tasteful holiday is lots of food with the fambam! I'm actually making a whiskey applesauce cake this year, so it'll be particularly tasty. I'd love this Nespresso to make my soy vanilla lattes in the morning while I'm in the kitchen.

To me, a Tasteful Holiday means spending time with my family! Presents vary, we almost never have a Christmas tree or other decorations, food is usually Chinese or non-traditional Christmas-y fare, but the only thing that matters is being together, especially this year when all 4 of us live in different places.

    Thank you!
