TRAVEL | BROOKLYN

11.02.2014
After high school, many of my girlfriends moved to different parts of the country.  We love to meet up a couple times of the year to reconnect and just have a great time together.  Last week, I was so excited to visit two of my friends in New York.  We explored, ate great food and had a lot of laughs.  It was such a wonderful little vacay. While there, I had the pleasure of staying the McCarren Hotel, an amazing boutique hotel located in Brooklyn's trendy Williamsburg neighborhood.  I instantly fell in love with the decor which had a touch of Mid-century modern.  The first night, we didn't leave the hotel, because it had everything we could ever ask for.  The room was so perfect and it had a balcony, with views of the park across the street.  The hotel also had a lively rooftop bar with the most stunning Manhattan skyline views, along with and a Michelin-starred chef at their downstairs restaurant, The Elm.  The next day, we ventured around Williamsburg and discovered that Bedford Street, which was only two block away, had so many boutiques, bars and cafes. More about my stay after the break...
Can't wait to come back and explore Williamsburg more! I definitely recommend staying at the McCarren Hotel. I had the most perfect stay and staff was always so helpful!

PHOTOS
1-5: The Elm is located in the bottom level of the hotel.  The head chef is Michelin-starred Paul Liebrand.  Their breakfast was divine!
6-7: Loving the interior of their lobby bar.  Wouldn't mind having these beautiful stools in my home!
8-11:  We had such a lovely room, and the balcony was unreal.  I loved the faux grass and enjoyed having tea while overlooking the park across the street.
12-19:  The Sheltering Sky, their rooftop bar and lounge was so gorgeous! I am still obsessed with all the vibrant colors and patterns, and I could sit there and look at the Manhattan skyline for hours. Simply perfect!
