Living in Los Angeles, the weather is almost always tank top appropriate. It makes a lace bra very essential in my wardrobe. I usually pair it with an open back top or a muscle tank with a low armhole. I think the the little bit of lace peeking through is so perfect.  Here's how to update a cotton bra in your closet with a lace trim. Full tutorial after the break...

I apologize for the absence of the step by step photos.  They unfortunately were corrupted. :(

- cotton bra (here , here and here)
- lace trim (here)
- sewing machine
- black thread
- scissors

1. Place the lace trim at the inside bottom band of the bra.  I started at one of the inner sideseams.
2. Switch your sewing machine to the zigzag stitch.  This is essential in keeping the stretch of the bottom band of the bra.
3.  Slowly stitch the lace onto the bottom band until the lace covers the entire band.   Remember to back stitch at the beginning and end to secure your stitches.

This turned out really beautifully. Thanks for sharing this great DIY with us. I love how it's sort of semi-diy, which means the rest of us who aren't so crafty have a chance at making it!
