DIY | EMBROIDERY FLOSS CHAIN BRACELET

8.26.2013
Today I was reminded that sometimes simple is better. I love delicate jewelry, and wanted to come up with a DIY that was easy to create and could update a simple, thin chain. You can make one or a few to add a little pop of color to your outfit. I can't wait to make a couple more for fall! Full tutorial after the break...

Materials:
- thin chain
- 2 jump rings
- lobster claw
- embroidery floss

Steps:
1. Cut a piece of your thin chain about the circumference of your wrist.  Then, cut a piece of embroidery floss about 3 times this length. Tie the embroidery floss to one end of the chain (double knot).
2. Weave the longer end of the embroidery floss through the chain links (in and out).
3. Continue weaving until you reach the end of the chain.  Then, double knot and cut excess.
4. Add a jump ring to each end of the chain.  Add a lobster claw to one of the jump rings.

Outfit:  Zara Woven Tee, Nordstrom Skirt, ASOS Rings

I've just added this to my to-do list! On another note, can I ask about your gold bracelet? I've been looking for one for a long time. Would you mind sharing your source? Thank you! :)

So glad to hear! I bought my chain from Athenian in Downtown LA on Maple Ave. I would definitely try etsy, search delicate or thin chain and maybe mjtrim.com. Hope this helps!
