I love wearing a cover up as the weather gets warmer. They have the ability to pull together your look so easily.   For the festival season, I like to pair a cover-up with a simple dress or a tank and cut-off shorts. Please stay tuned on how to win this and the DIY flower crown! Here's how to update a cover-up in your closet by adding beautiful lace trim to the sleeves and hem for an instant festival ready look.
Outfit: Free People Dress, Forever 21 Sandals, BCBGeneration Bracelet (c/o), DIY Flower Crown

- cover-up (here and here)
- lace trim (similar here and here)
- sewing machine or hand-sewing needles
- thread
- sewing pins

1. Cut your lace trim the length of your cover-up's hem.  Pin into place. The original cover-up has a ribbon detail at the hem, so I simply covered it with the lace trim.
2. Sew onto hem.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each sleeve hem.  I recommend starting the lace at the underarm seam.  When finished sewing onto the sleeve hem, sew the ends of the lace together to give it a more finished look.
