VALENTINE'S DIY | TOUCHES OF PINK (NECKLACE + SKIRT)

I saw this inspiration photo on Pinterest and could not get it out of my head. I absolutely love the combinations of pink against red. Here, I show you two quick DIY's on how to add a little pink and red in your outfit... perfect for Valentine's Day.  Full tutorial after the break. 

 DIY Painted Necklace
Materials:
- chain necklace (here or here)
- hot pink or coral spray paint
- painter's tape
- newspaper

 Steps: 
1. Lay out several pages of newspaper in a well ventilated room.
2. Using the painter's tape, tape off the area you do not want to add color to.
3. Spray paint using two even coats over the newspaper. Let dry for several hours. Remove the painter's tape.

DIY Painted Skater Skirt 
Materials:
- painter's tape 
- skater skirt (here or here)
- fabric paint 
- paint brush

Steps:
1. Using the painter's tape, tape a guideline that angles from the front side to the back (like the inspiration above).
2. Paint that section with the fabric paint and paint brush. Add a second coat if needed. Let dry overnight. Remove the painter's tape.
